STARTING A NEW CHAPTER

Starting a new chapter is always exciting, but meeting the criteria is necessary to ensure the sustainability and continuity of the chapter.

  1. A prospective school/chapter must have at least 10 Oriental Orthodox members.

  2. A list with the names and contact information of the prospective members (grade, phone number, and personal email address) must be compiled and made available.

  3. Inquire from the school about the required steps to start a chapter (school club). Obtain the documents required. Note: An approved OCSM Constitution is available on the website. Do not draft your own constitution or documents. Contact the SLT if additional documents are needed or if revisions are requested. Do not deliberately make revisions without consulting the SLT first.

  4. Once the above information is gathered, contact the SLT via the online form to request starting a new chapter.

  5. The SLT will contact you and provide you with a link to apply for an officer position. Any student interested in holding an officer position must complete this application. An interview will then be conducted with each applicant for the following roles:

    1. President

    2. Vice President

    3. Secretary and Social Media Coordinator

    4. Treasurer

    5. Community Service Coordinator

    6. Youth Outreach Coordinator

  6. After the completion of interviews, officers will be appointed to the most suitable roles.

  7. Upon successful completion of the officer selection process, the SLT will provide information regarding the next OCSM Summit date. Attendance at OCSM Summit is required for all officers annually.
